A Chronograph Watch is a timepiece with both timekeeping and stopwatch functions. Chronograph Wristwatches were first produced in the 18th century.

Usually the Chronographs stopwatch capability is built into three separate dials for hours, minutes, and seconds. The term Chronograph is often confused with the watches movement type, but Chronograph watches can have any movement type (automatic, quartz or even digital), and can also have several complications at once.

The traditional Chronograph design, with 3 stopwatch dials, is what most people associate with the word chronograph and is possibly the feature that makes chronograph watches so popular.
